2004 MLB Sherco Ratings Rev 1.0

I have sucked in all of the 2004 batting, fielding and pitching stats and rated each and every player.

Here is how to use the Excel workbook.

1) Open it.

2) Disable macros. I do not use any macros in this workbook. I tried, it did not work, and I cannot make the macro stuff disappear.

2) In the tabs "Batting", "Fielding" and "Pitching", use the pull down the autofilter in column B and pick a team.

3) The consolidated ratings are found in:

columns z to AI in "batting"
columns AH to AR in "pitching"
columns U to AB in "fielding"

4) I have set up the "print area" to be those consolidated ratings, but, it may need to be adjusted.

In the end, you will have three sheets per team to fillout out your lineup card.

Things I could not accomplish:

1) CLUTCH RATING: After dong a lot of reading, I was surprised to find out how heated of a debate exists on the statistical validity of clutch hitting. I decided that RISP (runners in scoring position) Batting Avg or LISP Battign Average (late inning runners in scoring position) would be a good way to rate "clutchness". The problem is, I cannot find a compilation of those stats. Maybe you know where to fidn that stat.

2) My 1984 rating sheet has HBP ratings. I do not know that rating formula.

2) L/R Batting: I could not find a combined stats batting/throwing table. So, you are on your own to add that to your line-up sheet. Sorry. Luckily, each player name cell is a link to CNNSI with that info.

Have fun. Don't email me to provide technical support on this spreadsheet. Feel free to actualize trades by just changing the team the player is on. I'll make changes as required, when I can get to it.
